Fran recently shared the recipe for her triple chocolate bread pudding with WBTV, check her out on QC Life!
Here’s how you can make this super sweet dessert at home:
1 baguette, diced in 2 x 2 inch squares
2 cups granulated sugar
4 cups half & half
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 c. chopped milk chocolate
1/2 c. chopped semi-sweet chocolate
1/2 c. chopped white chocolate
1. Spray a 10 x 12 inch pan or similar with pan spray and then sprinkle 1/2 c. sugar over the bottom of the pan. Place diced bread in the pan in an even layer. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, 1 c. sugar, half & half, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla until incorporated and well blended. Pour over bread. Let soak for 20-25 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the custard. When time is up, pour the remaining 1/2 c. sugar over bread.
2. Wrap pan in plastic wrap, then foil. Place in a preheated 350-degree oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes. The pudding should jiggle very slightly in the center, but otherwise, be set and puffed.
3. Remove from oven and let rest 1 hour before serving with whipped cream, caramel sauce, and fresh berries if desired. Serves 10-12 generously.
